There are some requirements and qualifications:

  1. You must have a minimum of  FOUR 4 Students not including yourself
  2. This is a NON-LIVE FIRE (No Range Time Required) classroom instruction that lasts FOUR 4 HOURS.
  3. The instructors are required by Law to teach certain elements and usually at a bare minimum 3 Hours is needed
  4. ​All are welcome to the lecture, but if they want an LTC or FID they must register and pay for the course
  5. Children under 14 can audit the course but are ineligible to receive a certificate
  6. Persons age of 14 or older are eligible for an FID card 
  7. ​Adults 21 or older are eligible for either a LTC or FID Card.
  8. All students including host must register.  Pay your tuition when you arrive for class
  9. The host pays $50.00 ONLY for the course, whereas the other students pay $100.00
  10. A Registration Portal is locatd at the bottom of this age.  All students must individually register
  11. The Host should have the students available to devote 4 Hours to the class.
  12. You can pick any day and time Sun-Friday Noon to 4 PM or Sun-Friday Evenings 6 PM to 10 PM
  13. ​We employ the TPI (Total Participation Involvement) methodology of teaching. Students interact with the lecturer.
  14. NO LIVE AMMUNITION OR OTHER FIREARMS WILL BE PERMITTED 
  15. Certificates will be issued at the end of class to each student
  16. PAYMENT TO BE PAID UPON ARRIVAL FOR CLASS. EACH STUDENT MAY PAY BY CASH, CHECK, CREDIT / DEBIT CARD

Private Instruction

This is a unique opportunity to have Commonwealth Firearms and Training Center MA and NRA Certified and licensed Instructors provide you and your friends personal instruction to obtain your MA - LTC or FID Certificate.  This course will enable you to secure your LTC or FID Card at ONE-HALF price for you the Host.  The course is the Mass LTC / FID  Basic Firearm Safety Course and the fees for your friends are $100.00 per student. You, THE HOST, pay ONLY $50.00.

Everything applicable and required by the MA State Police Firearms Licensing Division and the Criminal Justice Information Service (CJIS) will be taught. The instruction is identical to the LTC / FID Basic Firearms Safety Classroom Course. You may want to look over the MA LTC / FID course under Courses on this web site. This course will be provided to you and your guests the required  Knowledge, Skills and Attitude necessary to safely possess, carry and use firearms.


Included with the Live Lecture you and your guests will receive:


  • UNABRIDGED TEXT BOOK with all the MA and applicable Federal Laws that are current.  The Book was written by the author who will be lecturing
  • A  CD of the PowerPoint Lecture is provided to the Host each student
  • Hands on firearms utlizing instruction on a Semi-automatic and a Revolver
  • NO LIVE AMMUNITION OR OTHER FIREARMS WILL BE PERMITTED
  • All supplements to the Text Book and the local applications to the licensing authority in your community
